We have sent over 200 tons of humanitarian aid to Ukraine
So far, the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) has sent more than 200 tons of humanitarian aid to Ukraine. 13 trucks brought products and clothes for the war-affected population – two of them, under the Civil Protection Mechanism, were sent to a transport hub in Poland, and the remaining 11 reached the logistics hub of the Ukrainian Red Cross in Chernivtsi. Among the aids are clothes, shoes, blankets, sanitary and medical materials, diapers and more.
Meanwhile, the BRC’s campaign to support the population in Ukraine continues and those who wish can donate:
- New clothes and shoes – men’s, women’s and children’s;
- New bed linen;
- New and / or very well preserved warm duvets (and blankets);
- Hygienic materials (disinfectants; wet towels; sachets; diapers for babies; sanitary napkins; soap; shampoo; shower gel; toothpaste; toothbrush)
- Tents, lanterns, batteries, generators
Requiring donated shoes and clothes to be new is in line with WHO and International Red Cross guidelines for sending goods and donations during a pandemic.
