Extension of the humanitarian assistance programme for displaced persons from Ukraine until 30.04.2024.
The Council of Ministers adopted a Decision amending and supplementing the Programme for Humanitarian Assistance to Displaced Persons from Ukraine Granted Temporary Protection in the Republic of Bulgaria, adopted by Decision No 317 of the Council of Ministers of 2022, amended and supplemented by Decisions No 535, 665, 856, 909, 963, 1038 of the Council of Ministers of 2022 and Decision No 141, 212, 323, 454, and 660 of the 2023 Council of Ministers (CMM).
By Decision No 317 of 2022, the Council of Ministers adopted the Programme for Humanitarian Assistance to Displaced Persons from Ukraine with Temporary Protection in the Republic of Bulgaria. The Programme has been extended several times, and according to Decision No 660 of the Council of Ministers of 29 September 2023, it expires on 31 December 2023.
By Order No. P-166 of 04.09.2023 of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria a Working Group was established to develop a Programme for Humanitarian Assistance and Integration of Displaced Persons from Ukraine with Temporary Protection in the Republic of Bulgaria (Programme). The development of a new Programme is to be finalised, after which a procedure will be carried out for its coordination and approval by the Council of Ministers. The new Programme will outline measures in priority areas to ensure the possibility of life and realization of persons granted temporary protection in the Republic of Bulgaria, with the resulting rights and obligations. A clear and transparent system for the displaced persons will be created, which will enable more efficient work of the administrations and overcoming the challenges the Republic of Bulgaria faces as a host country.
Therefore, with the adopted Decision, the term of the Programme for Humanitarian Assistance to Displaced Persons from Ukraine with Temporary Protection in the Republic of Bulgaria, adopted by Decision No. 317 of the Council of Ministers of 2022, amended and supplemented by Decisions No. 535, 665, 856, 909, 963, 1038 of the Council of Ministers of 2022 and Decision No. 141, 212, 323, 454 and 660 of the Council of Ministers from 2023 is extended until 30 April 2024 under the current conditions.
