    Nearly 1,000 Ukrainians started working in Bulgaria between February 24 and April 7

    953 Ukrainian citizens have started working under an employment contract in Bulgaria from February 24 to April 7, according to the National Revenue Agency. During the same period, the mobile teams of the Employment Agency consulted 4,100 Ukrainians fleeing the war and informed them about the opportunities for access to the labor market in our country.

    1228 of them filled out a survey for their readiness to start work. The data show that 68% are ready to do so immediately. 18% are considering taking this step in 1 to 6 months, and 10% said they will start work if their children are cared for.

    Nearly two-thirds of Ukrainians surveyed have higher education, and 31% have secondary education. Only 3% have primary and lower education. Data from the Employment Agency also show that 27% of Ukrainian citizens want to start working as an office secretary. One in four said they preferred to be a hotel administrator, and 21% wanted to work as a valet. Among the most preferred professions are also a worker in restaurants and catering establishments, sales consultant, restaurateur, computer operator, cashier, cook, production worker.

    The Social Assistance Agency also supports Ukrainian citizens fleeing the war. In the period from February 24 to April 12, the Social Assistance Directorates throughout the country issued orders for one-time assistance of up to BGN 375 to 3,147 Ukrainians with temporary protection. The disbursement will start on April 15.
